New Unified Points Methodology

The nightly points costs for The Club and HGVClub reservations will change starting December 5, 2023. The update will be in effect for reservations starting in January 2025 and beyond and is now visible on your Member website.

What Is Changing?

Hilton Grand Vacations aligned the nightly points rate across The Club and HGVClub programs. Under the previous nightly points cost methodology, if a Member of The Club made a reservation for less than seven nights, the points cost per night was based on a percentage of the total cost for a 7-Night stay (the 7-Night stay equaled 110% of the Home Week’s points cost).

Under the new methodology, the nightly points value is now based on a percentage of the total 7-Night points cost that is equal among both The Club and HGVClub programs and totals only 100% of the full week’s cost instead of 110%. Now, for example, Sunday through Wednesday nights each account for 10% of the full-week cost, and Thursday through Saturday nights each account for 20% of the full-week cost, equaling 100%, regardless of the check-in day or the number of nights at a particular resort.

What Does This Mean For You?

Our new unified points methodology more closely aligns with the use and demand of our Members. Now, the percentage of nightly points needed for a reservation within both The Club and HGVClub programs is the same for all Members, equaling 100% of the full-week cost. In addition, both Member programs now calculate nightly points rates based on the same percentage scale for reservations that are fewer than or more than seven nights.

1. What is Hilton Grand Vacations changing with this initiative?
Under the previous points cost methodology, if a Member of The Club made a reservation for less than seven nights, the points cost per night was based on a percentage of the total cost for a 7-Night stay (the 7-Night stay equaled 110% of the Home Week's points cost).

Now, the percentage of each nightly cost is the same for all Members. For Members of The Club, the nightly points value is based on a percentage of the total 7-Night points cost that is equal among both Club programs and totals 100% of the full week’s cost. In addition, the nightly points rates change to 10% for Sunday through Wednesday and 20% for Thursday through Saturday nights, and the points total for all weeks (7-Night stays) remain the same.

2. Why is this change only impacting reservations for 2025 and beyond?
With select properties having booking windows beginning 14 months before the check-in or check-out date, the methodology change was implemented to ensure that cross-club booking reservations for 2025 and after will hold equal nightly point costs.

3. How will this change impact Members of The Club?
The unified points methodology aligns the nightly points breakdown needed for a reservation within The Club and HGVClub programs so that the percentage of each nightly cost is the same for all Members.

Under the previous points cost methodology, if a Member of The Club made a reservation for less than seven nights, the points cost per night was based on a percentage of the total cost for a 7-Night stay (the 7-Night stay equaled 110% of the Home Week's points cost).

Under the new methodology, the nightly points value is based on a percentage of the total 7-Night points cost that is equal among both Club programs and totals 100% of the full week’s cost. For example, for a full-week stay, Sunday through Wednesday nights each account for 10% of the full-week cost, and Thursday through Saturday nights each account for 20% of the full-week cost, regardless of the arrival day or the number of nights a Member stays at a particular resort and season.

4. I’m a dual Owner through The Club and Embarc. How will this change impact my Embarc membership?
At this time, the unified points methodology implementation will only impact reservations for January 2025 and beyond that were booked through The Club and HGVClub. However, if a future change is made to the Embarc and Extraordinary Escapes points methodology, we will communicate those details to you.
