Departs: 22 June and 12 October 2019 Itinerary Day 1 Day 2 After Breakfast, we will make our way to the town of Alfarnatejo to admire the Pyrenees of the South. On the way, we will pass through the oldest olive groves in Spain and visit an Oil Mill, which produces the purest olive oil also called “Liquid Gold. After, we can sample the famous worldwide known olive oil with homemade country bread "Pan Cateto"! We’ll continue to Alfarnatejo to visit the beautiful church and stroll through its narrow streets, with a stop to taste the locally produced sweet wine. On arrival to the plaza we will be met by the housewives' whom will take us to their houses for lunch, tasting a variety of typical Spanish dishes from the region and cooked by them. After lunch, we will be returning back to the resort where the rest of the day is at your leisure to enjoy the facilities at the resort. Day 3 Day 4 Day 5 After lunch, we will visit La Alcazaba, a moorish castle built in the 11th century on a hill in the middle of the city, this old fort is the best-preserved of its kind in Spain. Next stop on the tour of Malaga the Roman Theatre where you'll be shown a short film and view some artefacts before entering the theatre itself, where you can walk past the old stage and sit on the stone steps. Then the highlight of our day, an exceptional private visit to Malaga’s Pablo Picasso Museum reserved exclusively for Diamond Resorts, to contemplate the works of the artist who changed the course of modern art. Accompanied by art historians, you can stroll in small groups through the rooms and facilities visiting the Permanent Collection of Picasso, as well as areas normally restricted to the public like the terraces or the archaeological sites. Then, depending on the weather, a cocktail will be held on the museums terraces, in the garden or on the patio with 19 amazing tastings created by the cook Dani García. Day 6 In the evening, we will go to Finca El Cartujano, a typical Andalusian farm located in the heart of the Costa del Sol in Mijas Costa, where we will enjoy our farewell Flamenco dinner and horse show. Most of you will be arriving on Saturday throughout the day. If you have provided your flight details prior to your arrival, there will be 2 scheduled transfers from Malaga airport to Los Amigo Beach Club resort (When you exit the luggage area, you will be greeted by a Diamond representative). After you are checked in at the resort, the rest of the day is at leisure for you to enjoy the facilities at the resort.
This morning, we will begin our day at the on-site restaurant with a welcome buffet breakfast giving you an opportunity to meet your fellow Club members and Diamond Resort representatives and get an overview of the exciting week ahead!
Today, we head out to Ronda; a city surrounded by lush river valleys and sits above a deep ravine. It is one of the most beautiful and visited cities in Spain. On arrival we will explore the old town enjoying its dramatic escarpments and views over the Serranía de Ronda mountains. Ronda has so much to offer, including the ‘Real Maestranza’ bullring, one of the oldest and most picturesque in Spain! Later in the day, we will visit Descalzos Viejos Winery where we will enjoy a tasting of three wines before enjoying lunch at “Meson Cimbra” to taste traditional Spanish tapas.
Today we head out to Granada where our first stop is a visit the famous world heritage site ‘The Alhambra’; a rich historical complex of fortresses and palaces. Before your free time in Granada, stroll through the historical part of the city accompanied with a local guide who will show where the main monuments are situated such as the Angustias Church (the Patron Saint of Granada), Alcaiceria, the Cathedral and Royal Chapel (entrance fees not included). Lunch included at ‘Restaurante El Carmen’.
Your morning is at leisure to relax before heading out to the Costa del Sol’s capital of Malaga. First stop is a visit to la “Taberna del Guardia”, a famous wine cellar that dates back over a century ago! Next, enjoy a traditional tapas lunch at Restaurant “El Pimpi” a bodega bar that has long been a city icon and meeting place where you can enjoy local food and wine and, above all, the culture and traditions of southern Spain.
Enjoy relaxing at the resort or join us on our trip to Puerto Banus, a popular Spanish destination for the rich and famous! With great shops, a stunning port with some breath-taking yachts and a massive choice of restaurants and bars, it’s a great place to spend your last day and enjoy some free time.
There will be one scheduled departure transfer from Los Amigos Beach Club to Malaga Airport at the end of our Spanish Adventure.
