National Park Service - Manages 129 historical parks, 87 national monuments, 59 national parks, 25 battlefields or military parks, 19 preserves, 18 recreation areas, 10 seashores, four parkways, four lake shores and two reserves.
U.S. Forest Service - Manages and protects 154 national forests and 20 national grasslands in 43 states and Puerto Rico.
Fish and Wildlife Service - Manages the 150 million-acre national wildlife refuge system of more than 560 national wildlife refuges and thousands of small wetlands and other special management areas. Also operates 70 national fish hatcheries, 65 fishery resource offices and 85 ecological service field stations.
Bureau of Land Management - Also known as the National Landscape Conservation System, the BLM contains some of the Western states’ most spectacular landscapes. Includes 873 federally recognized areas and approximately 32 million acres of national monuments, national conservation areas, wilderness areas, wilderness study areas, wild and scenic rivers, national scenic and historic trails and conservation lands of the California desert.
Bureau of Reclamation - Best known for the construction of dams, power plants and canals. Nation’s largest wholesale water supplier, operates 337 reservoirs, delivers 10 trillion gallons of water to more than 31 million people each year. Also, manages with partners 289 recreation sites that have 90 million visits annually.
U.S. Army Corps of Engineers - Owns and operates more than 600 dams, operates and maintains 12,000 miles of commercial inland navigation channels, maintains 926 coastal, Great Lakes and inland harbors, and restores, creates, enhances or preserves tens of thousands of acres of wetlands annually.
